Shop live with sellers you trust.
Whatnot is the marketplace where sellers go live, show products up close, and answer your questions in real time before you buy. Shopping this way is more fun—and more human. Trust is built in the open here, backed by the systems, protections, and teams we've put behind it.

How we support sellers
Starting a business and selling live means putting yourself out there, and we've built Whatnot to back you up. When things go wrong outside your control (like carrier failures or chargebacks) Whatnot handles it, and we share the cost when a dispute is genuinely unclear.
Account Health helps you keep your business on track by showing how you're performing across shipping speed, order fulfillment, and policy compliance, so you know where you stand.

How we protect buyers
Every purchase is backed by our Buyer Protection Policy. If an item doesn't arrive, arrives damaged, or isn't what the seller described, you're covered.
Behind the scenes, dedicated teams and systems work around the clock so buyers and sellers can connect with confidence.
How live shopping builds trust
Most online shopping asks you to trust only a photo and a description. Live shopping is more transparent: you can see your next purchase up close, ask questions, and get answers instantly. Sellers build reputations in public, one show at a time.
That visibility is the first layer of how trust works on Whatnot. Everything else — our policies, our protections, our team— is built on top of it.
The team behind it
Roughly one in three Whatnot employees works in Trust and Safety. That makes it the largest function at the company. They set and evolve the rules for what's allowed on Whatnot, build the systems that enforce them, and support buyers and sellers when something goes wrong. But building a trustworthy marketplace takes all of us. All Whatnot employees buy on the app, go live as sellers, and pitch in on customer support tickets—so we know the experience from the inside out.
